Day 1:
KAMPALA

Today you embark on a city tour of the capital city of Uganda Kampala. Visit some remarkable and historical sites, including the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, the Uganda Museum and of course the African Craft Village. We advise you to have money changed today in case you would like to buy any souvenir. You will pay for lunch directly at the restaurant.

Day 2:
KAMPALA-MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

Early morning depart for Murchison Falls National Park the most beautiful protected area in Uganda. Enjoy a lunch stop in Masindi before entering the park. Visit the magnificent falls and marvel at the mighty Nile flowing into a seven meter crevice, to thunder 45 meters below in a series of cascades. This spectacular scenery can be viewed from different points up at the baler’s summit.

Day 3:
MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK-UGANDA SAFARI

After an early morning breakfast you will enjoy a half-day game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, escorted by a ranger. Game in this part includes the elephant, giraffe, Jackson hartebeest, lions, oribis, waterbucks and a variety of savannah woodland birds. After lunch we will go on a Nile cruise for game viewing at close quarters. Watch how hippos take a bath, elephants come to drink and crocodiles lying lazy at the shores.

Day 4:
MURCHISON FALLS – FORT PORTAL

Depart Murchison Falls for Fort Portal. For approximately eight hours you will drive through the country side and enjoy scenic views. The town of Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the renowned Mountains of the Moon and is famous for its many tea plantations.

Day 5:
SEMLIKI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast you will take a scenic drive towards Semliki National Park. Enjoy the magnificent view at the River Semliki and Congo. After arriving in the protected area, a ranger will accompany you on a beautiful nature walk through the Ituri Rainforest.
Enjoy the calmness of the forest, look out for the rich birdlife at the swamp and boil an egg in the hot springs.

Day 6:
KIBALE NATIONAL PARK & BIGODI SWAMP

Today you will track the chimpanzees through the Kibale Forest known for having highest concentration of primates in East Africa. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many others. After lunch we transfer to the Bigodi Swamp for a 2 hour nature walk. The Bigodi Swamp Walk is an initiative of the local community and is known for its rich diversity of birds and primates.

Day 7:
KIBALE – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

On this day you will take a scenic drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
A game drive in the national park gives us the chance to spot waterbucks, warthogs and other wildlife.

Day 8:
QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast descend into the Kyambura Gorge in search of the chimpanzees.
It is a beautiful walk through the river valley, home to many birds and butterfly species. After lunch we take on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George.

Day 9:
QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK – BWINDI

Depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Ishasha sector where you will search for the tree climbing lions in the fid trees.
Enjoy the lush countryside while you pass traditional homesteads and farms on your way to Bwindi.

Day 10:
BWINDI GORILLA SAFARI

Meet endangered mountain gorillas, the gentle giants of Bwindi! Tracking the mountain gorillas takes 3- 10 hours. This is dependent on how far the gorillas are in the forest. It is difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike. Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. It will be worthwhile as you observe them. A unique and unforgettable experience! For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour.
The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these giant apes.

Day 11:
BWINDI – Nature Walk

After breakfast, hike to the 3 waterfalls in the Bwindi Impenetrable. This trail is spectacular for bird watchers, and many monkeys, baboons, warthogs and duikers can also be seen on this hike. Accompanied by a local guide, you will take a 3 hour walk through the Buhoma village and learn about the culture of the pole in this area. See how crafts and beer is made from banana. The local distillery makes the local Waragi Gin from bananas. Meet a traditional healer and learn of what is gathered in the ancient forest and how it is taken and applied to ailments. Visit the Batwa Pygmy community. Enjoy an amazing hike in the rainforest with the Batwa guides, see how the Batwa lived, hunted and learned about medicinal plants. You will also be introduced to the local wildlife.
Hear ancient legends, traditional songs and join in on a mock hunting party.

Day 12:
BWINDI – LAKE BUNYONYI

Depart for Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda. This area is often called “Little Switzerland of Uganda” and boosts one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Relax or go for a canoe trip while you watch the beautiful sunset.

Day 13:
LAKE BUNYONYI

After the challenging and strenuous hike in Bwindi, some relaxing moments on the shores of this peaceful lake are most welcome. Nature walk.

Day 14:
LAKE BUNYONYI – LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast we drive to Lake Mburo National Park which takes us about four hours with lunch en route. As we enter the park and head towards the accommodation it is likely that you will see some wildlife, like impalas, topis, warthogs, zebras and buffaloes. After checking in you will go on a boat ride on the lake and enjoy the rich birdlife and the hippos that are cooling off.
Dinner and overnight at Mburo Safari Lodge.
For upgrade you can stay at Mihingo Lodge.

Day 15:
LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK – KAMPALA

Early start of the day as we will go for a nature walk guided by a ranger.
Lake Mburo is the only national park where you can experience a safari on foot.
After breakfast we transfer to Kampala with a stop at the equator for photos or shopping.
Arrive Late in the afternoon in Kampala.
Overnight: Hotel Africana Kampala.

Day 16:
DEPARTURE

Enriched with an experience of a lifetime and unforgettable memories you will say goodbye to the Pearl of Africa.
Depending on the time of departure you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
